Category 1 — Pardoned Jan 6 Defendants Hired to Government Positions

These individuals were charged or convicted for their roles in the January 6 attack, received clemency from Trump on January 20, 2025, and were then hired into federal government positions.

Details — Jared Wise:

• Wise was a former FBI special agent who was caught on police bodycam footage at the Capitol on January 6, berating officers as “Nazis” and yelling “kill ’em” as rioters assaulted law enforcement.
• Case docket: United States v. Jared Wise, No. 23-CR-184. Charges included civil disorder, disorderly conduct, assaulting/impeding law enforcement officers, and related counts.
• He was on trial when Trump pardoned all Jan 6 defendants on Inauguration Day (January 20, 2025); case was subsequently dismissed.
• He was hired as a senior adviser/counselor in the DOJ’s “Weaponization Working Group,” the unit tasked with investigating what Trump and allies characterize as politically motivated prosecutions, under Ed Martin (acting U.S. Attorney for DC and prominent Jan 6 defender).
• Senate Judiciary Democrats publicly urged his removal and filed congressional requests for his résumé, ethics waivers, SF-50, and description of DOJ responsibilities.

Category 2 — Jan 6 Coup Plot Architects Given Cabinet / Senior Appointments

These individuals were central architects of the legal and political strategy to overturn the 2020 election and were present in the planning infrastructure that led to January 6. They received major cabinet-level or senior administration appointments.

Category 3 — Congressional Objectors Who Voted Against Certification

These members of Congress voted on January 6–7, 2021 to object to the certification of Electoral College results in one or more states, following the Capitol attack. Many have been appointed or nominated to administration positions in 2025.

Note: Many congressional objectors retain their elected positions rather than receiving executive appointments.

Category 4 — Jan 6 Organizers and Facilitators Active in Trump Orbit Post-Pardon

These individuals organized or funded January 6 events, were convicted of related crimes, received pardons, and are now active in the political ecosystem surrounding the Trump administration — though not necessarily holding formal government positions.
