Alex Gorsky — Board Member Accountability Profile

Category: Private Citizen — Corporate Director Role: Independent Director, Apple Inc. (AAPL) Board Tenure: 2021 – present Committee Memberships: Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee; People and Compensation Committee Profile Type: Board Member Accountability — Anchor B (Documented Organizational Leadership)

> Basis for Inclusion: Alex Gorsky holds a documented governance role as an independent director of Apple Inc., which made documented political donations to Trump-aligned entities while facing an active DOJ antitrust lawsuit and multiple NLRB enforcement actions. Gorsky’s concurrent board memberships at IBM and JPMorgan Chase — two companies with significant government contract and regulatory exposure — create a governance profile of cross-sector significance. This profile documents the factual governance relationship, not the subject’s personal political views.

> Subject Classification: Private Citizen / Corporate Director. Board membership is a matter of public record (SEC filings, proxy statements). This profile documents only the governance role and its connection to documented corporate political activity.

> What is NOT the basis for inclusion: Gorsky’s personal political opinions, party affiliation, public statements, or any protected speech are NOT the basis for inclusion. The basis is solely the documented directorial role and its fiduciary connection to corporate political spending documented in the parent corporate donor profile.

Biographical Overview

Alex Gorsky served as CEO of Johnson & Johnson from 2012 to 2022 and as Executive Chairman through January 2023, leading one of the world’s largest healthcare companies through the development and distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine and several high-profile product liability disputes. He began his J&J career in 1988, left for a stint at Novartis (2004–2008), and then returned to J&J where he rose to the top. Under his leadership, J&J’s annual revenue grew from approximately $67 billion to $94 billion.

After J&J, Gorsky co-founded Alderline Group, an advisory firm, and became a General Partner at ICONIQ Capital, a prominent technology investment firm with significant investments in Silicon Valley companies. His concurrent board seats at both IBM and JPMorgan Chase — alongside Apple — make him one of the most interconnected corporate directors in the United States, with governance oversight spanning technology, financial services, and healthcare.

He holds a B.S. from the United States Military Academy at West Point and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
