Biographical Overview

Arthur D. Levinson, Ph.D. is the CEO of Calico, a research and development company focused on human aging and age-related diseases, which he has led since 2013. Calico is an Alphabet/Google-backed venture, giving Levinson a notable cross-sector governance position as a director of Apple while leading an Alphabet subsidiary. Before Calico, Levinson served as CEO of Genentech from 1995 to 2009 and as Chairman from 1999 to 2014, where he helped build one of the world’s most important biotechnology companies before its acquisition by Roche.
