Biographical Overview

Gregory J. Fleming is the President and CEO of Rockefeller Capital Management, the wealth management firm he has led since 2018, building it from a family office into a multi-billion-dollar independent wealth management platform. He previously served as President of Morgan Stanley (2012–2015) and as President of Merrill Lynch (2007–2008) — during which he orchestrated Merrill Lynch’s emergency sale to Bank of America at the height of the financial crisis. Before Merrill Lynch, he was a managing partner at various investment banking firms.

Fleming is also notable as a prior BlackRock director from 2006 to 2009. His 2025 re-appointment to the BlackRock board follows his establishment of Rockefeller Capital Management as a significant independent wealth manager and reflects his long-standing relationship with the firm.

He holds a B.A. from Colby College and a J.D. from Yale Law School.
