GRU Sandworm Indictment: Six Russian Officers Charged for Global Cyberattacks

A federal grand jury (Western District of Pennsylvania) indicted six Russian military intelligence officers from GRU Unit 74455 (“Sandworm/Telebots”) — the most destructive hacking unit ever documented. Named defendants: Yuriy Andrienko, Sergey Detistov, Pavel Frolov, Anatoliy Kovalev, Artem Ochichenko, Petr Pliskin. Charges: conspiracy to commit computer fraud and abuse, wire fraud, damaging protected computers, aggravated identity theft. Alleged operations included NotPetya malware ($10B in damage), Olympic Destroyer, KillDisk, attacks on French elections (2017), and U.S. election-related targets. All six defendants remain in Russia.
