Harrison’s tenure as DNC chair coincided precisely with the period during which Biden’s cognitive decline became observable to insiders and the party’s apparatus was used to suppress that information.

1. Post-Debate DNC Call — Minimizing Biden’s Performance

On June 29, 2024 — two days after Biden’s debate — Harrison co-hosted a DNC call with campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez involving dozens of committee members from across the country. The call was described by participants as having largely ignored Biden’s debate performance or the widespread calls for him to withdraw.

According to reporting by the Boston Globe, RNZ, and others:

• Harrison “reinforced the president’s message” on the call
• He referenced Biden’s comments that he doesn’t “debate as well as he used to, but he knows how to get up when he gets knocked down”
• He suggested that “party leaders always knew the 2024 presidential contest would be close” — a talking point that multiple attendees found infuriating given the circumstances

The simultaneous release of the O’Malley Dillon memo claiming the debate had “no tangible impact” suggests coordinated messaging.

2. DNC Coordinated Talking Points

Former DNC National Finance Committee member Lindy Li testified that the DNC — under Harrison’s leadership — distributed coordinated talking points to fundraisers and influencers to counter reporting about Biden’s cognitive decline. Li stated:

“We were given talking points. Every time they say they’re not paying attention, or they didn’t take something seriously, they paid attention, and they took it seriously.”

Li also described the party’s response to Special Counsel Hur’s report (February 2024, which described Biden as an “elderly man with a poor memory”) as directing surrogates to “tar and feather” Hur — attack the messenger rather than address the substance.

• She was given talking points rather than engagement with her concerns
• When she posted social media content showing Biden at events, DNC officials called her “in a fit of fury” to take it down

4. MSNBC Appearance — Downplaying Call’s Significance

After the DNC call became the subject of reporting, Harrison appeared on MSNBC and downplayed its significance, characterizing it as a routine quarterly communication. A DNC spokesperson later confirmed it was a “regularly scheduled quarterly conference call.”

Harrison led the DNC during a period when party machinery was actively used to suppress information about the nominee’s fitness.
