Byron Donalds (born October 28, 1978, Brooklyn, New York) is a Republican U.S. Representative serving Florida’s 19th Congressional District since January 2021. He is running for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Marco Rubio, who became Secretary of State. The Florida Senate seat will be contested in a 2026 special/general election.
Donalds holds a B.S. in Finance and Marketing from Florida State University. Before Congress, he served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020 and worked in banking and insurance. He first ran for the FL-19 seat in 2020, winning the Republican primary and the general election.
