Biographical Overview

Andrew “Drew” Houston co-founded Dropbox in 2007 and has served as its CEO and Chairman since 2020 (CEO since founding). Dropbox, the cloud file storage and collaboration company, went public in March 2018. Under Houston’s leadership, Dropbox pioneered the consumer cloud storage market before pivoting toward business productivity with its Work in Progress strategy. As of mid-2026, Dropbox has approximately 700 million registered users.

Houston joined the Meta board in 2020. His concurrent CEO role at Dropbox — a cloud storage company whose business models intersect with both Meta’s enterprise collaboration interests and the broader regulatory environment around data privacy — gives him relevant operational perspective on the issues that Meta’s governance bodies oversee.

He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT.
