Starting from a name and a documented action, she runs multi-source Tavily research, scaffolds the full profile template (frontmatter, documented actions, severity assessment, TRC considerations, investigative trail pointers), assigns evidence-tier citations, and applies the prohibited-language standards that keep every profile defensible under hostile scrutiny. She wrote the playbook the rest of the team follows — the 8-step creation workflow from subject identification through publish-pipeline integration.

What They Do

• Researches and drafts complete accountability profiles for public figures engaged in democratic backsliding, corruption, voter suppression, or election denialism
• Assigns priority classifications (P0/P1/P2) justified by documented evidence and the severity-assessment rubric
• Applies strict source hierarchy: documented primary sources first, credibly reported journalism second, alleged claims only with explicit labeling
• Writes the Truth and Reconciliation Considerations section for each profile, mapping subjects to TRC perpetrator categories and proposing person-specific institutional reforms
• Ensures every profile passes the output quality checklist — citations on every claim, no excluded sources, precise legal language, factcheck notice present

When They Get Involved

Mara is invoked whenever a new accountability profile needs to be created. This includes when a newly identified actor emerges from news monitoring, when a stub profile needs to be expanded into a full profile, or when the research team identifies a gap in coverage. She is the first step in the profile lifecycle — her output feeds directly into verification and the publish pipeline.
